What to expect
Our goal is to make you comfortable and help you feel at home during your treatment. The best way we can do this is by explaining what you can expect when you arrive.
Detailed Physical Exam
A thorough evaluation will be performed. Assessing Inspection, Palpation, Neurological/Vascular exams, Range of Motion, and Orthopedic tests, to help diagnose current complaint.
X-rays
If necessary X-Rays will be ordered to gain a more thorough understanding of current issue. It will also allow us to evaluate the disc spaces of your spine, as well as the surrounding anatomy, and will show any degeneration. You will have the opportunity to review your x-rays with Dr. Lopez.
Diagnosis
A diagnosis and report of findings will be made, with the goal of relieving pain and discomfort, and restoring function. This may involve other members of the Summit Chiropractic team. In the rare case that we determine that you are not a good candidate for chiropractic care, we will refer you to another professional who can help.
Follow-up visit
Follow-up visits generally require less time depending on treatment plan. These visits could consist of heat, chiropractic, manual therapy, massage, functional rehab, and any other treatment needed.

Functional Movement Screen (FMS)
Your journey into movement begins here. Movement is the universal language of human expression. Understanding the how and why of moving well helps us aspire to move often. Welcome to the Movement Experience.
The principles of movement are implemented from the results we derive from the Functional Movement Screen, allowing our providers to make treatment plan decisions with precision and purpose. Screen results provide valuable feedback throughout the treatment process to ensure we are meeting short and long-term movement goals for lifelong health and vitality.
Learn from FMS experts how to:
- Recognize movement patterns that support work, sports and daily activities.
- Understand the true relationship that movement patterns play in our health and fitness goals.
- Identify principles to support the importance of movement screening.
- Explain the role of mobility, motor control, and functional patterns in fundamental movement.
- Demonstrate the use of the Functional Movement Screen instructions and procedures.

Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA)
The SFMA is a movement based diagnostic system which systematically finds the cause of pain – not just the source – by logically breaking down dysfunctional movement patterns in a structured, repeatable assessment.
