At Summit Sports Chiropractic we offer all levels of care. We believe that nutrition plays a huge role in the musculoskeletal system’s ability to build strength, endure, and repair. Our nutritionist, Jolene, is a licensed health care provider. She understands the metabolic needs of all ages and activity levels. She uses current and relevant research for developing specific nutrition plans in order to optimize metabolism and energy balance for each individual.
The direct benefit to the client is:
- optimal performance at any task
- recovery from strenuous exercise
- a better body composition.
No one approach will work for everyone. She will take into account each person’s caloric requirements as well as micro (i.e. vitamins and minerals) and macronutrient (i.e. carbs, protein, and fat) needs. The client’s responsibility is to keep track of daily intake using an application either on their phone or a computer (i.e. My Fitness Pal or Lose it). The plans created for each client are meant to be satisfying and not meant to make the person feel starved.
Follow-up appointments, phone calls, and emails may be necessary to tweak a plan and/or adjust for an increased caloric demand or decrease if activity levels change.
Knowledge is power: when the client is given the resources to succeed with a meal plan and is 100% open and willing to implement their new strategies, they have the winning combination.
