Dr. Asdrubal Lopez has successfully completed the requirements to be certified as a Diplomate of the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians (DACBSP). The DACBSP certification requires the doctor to attend a minimum of 300 hours of postgraduate education. This instruction is specific to evaluating physical fitness and the assessment and treatment of injuries encountered in sports. Following the completion of these hours, the doctor must then take and successfully pass a comprehensive written examination. The doctor must also successfully complete a practical (hands-on) examination. In addition, the doctor must have a sports-related paper published in a peer-reviewed journal and a minimum of 100 hours providing hands-on treatment to athletes outside of the clinical setting.
This training will aid Dr. Lopez in the prevention and treatment of athletic injuries by enhancing his diagnostic skills and patient care. The DACBSP accreditation exists to provide a uniform standard of education that assures teams and athletes that the doctor has met a high level of competency in chiropractic sports medicine. Dr. Lopez joins 300 others nationally who hold this designation.
